Aaaah, she was so close to playing. But c'mon it was a bad situation for Petko and it makes more sense for another German player to replace her if at all possible. Donna should be getting some good practice in with a few world class players while she's there.

I mean, I see how they wanted t find Germany player but I thought they wouldn't just settle for anybody, Donna is surely bigger star than Malek.

Donna went to Australia and she knew that she will be hitting partner for competitors and that she has extremely small chances for actual playing.

This is big experience for her, hope she will train with some male players

Yes, Chinese group Han Xinyun/Zhou Yimiao get the double WC of Australian Open

I want to say. If every country do so, what Donna go to Perth for? She practise with Barty not those top players, it's useless for her to promote.

She's gonna be hitting with Barty again at 3pm today

She though she would be an alternate because she though that Cilić would also accept the ALT spot but he didn't. That's all. People get over it, Hopman Cup is a tournament of nations, it has such a format.

Really don't understand Cilic's decision to play Chennai instead of Hopman Cup. After all, just two best 250 tournament best results are counting in male ranking so he could play just two our home tournaments + few more if he sees is out of form. And in Perth he could get some really awesome practice, for example, even match with world number one, Djkovic. But not, he has to play other tournament.

Cilic has been opening the season in Chennai for the past several years now, so he probably has a long-term contract with them, and it's not so easy to get out of those. Sure, 250 tournaments don't count for much, but his decision to play them so often speaks volumes about his self-confidence,

Cilic was never going to accept an ALT spot. If he said yes they would have been 1 of the 8.

Hopman Cup wanted Croatia, and Donna & Cilic were going to be one of the 8 teams. When Cilic said no, Donna still wanted to come as the reserve player.
