Even as someone who usually hopes for semi-tough draws, I'm actually glad she got a cakewalk. Dunno why but I'm expecting her to be rusty, so a couple of matches to ease her way in is all to the good imo. I'm just glad she doesn't have to start her season against Safarova or Lisicki like poor Aza

Indeed!  Vika had the worst draw imo.
I didnt' "feel" the beginning of the season and wasn't excited until I saw the tweet and the draw, now I'M DYING FOR IT TO BEGIN, GIVE ME TENNIS NOW FFS!

It's a good draw, but Vinci is not the best opponent to start your 2013. All those slices and variations may drive Maria crazy, if she isn't ready. Hoepfully it won't throw her rythm off. I'm expecting a SF showing here at least.

Why is everyone saying she'll face Vinci. I see Jarka being a GOAT and coming through Vinci and maybe even beating Maria. I just have this feeling it'll happen.
