My expectations aren't that high to be truthful, all I really expect from her is to beat everyone she's supposed to beat, and not suffer any beatdowns.

I'd actually say that's everyone bar Serena

I would consider winning Indian Wells and Miami back to back an even greater achievement than winning a slam. But because it wouldn't get her in the long run the same recognition as winning a slam I would if I had to choose between the two prefer her to win a slam, even though personally I would consider the Indian Wells/Miami double the greatest achievement of her career.

Exactly. And she won't beat Azarenka every time they play, but she also shouldn't be losing 3 and 0 or 3 and 1 when she does lose.

Winning Miami wouldn't compare to winning a slam though... However, it would be the cherry on top

Also, when approaching the net hit into open space, why she hits it back to her opponent asking to be passed so often I will never know.

Re: Things you want Maria to achieve/do in 2013.
More variety on her serve. Especially, on the AD court
Her down the T serve is just getting too predictable.

She's just more tentative coming into the court in general now. Before, she was committed to it while still favoring the baseline. Now she looks like a deer in headlights when she has to move more than 3 feet inside the baseline

It drives me fucking bonkers
I'd rather her miss approach shots than get passed.

This is basically what cost her the first set against Lisicki at the Olympics Thank God she won the match in the end!

Yep, her hitting pattern is 90% the same. Even if some players pretty dumb, any half decent coach can tell to his pupil what to do when "Pova will hit BH CC with every short ball", etc...
If she would drop this stubborness, it could make her life much easier.
Another story how rarely she is going to the net, and reverts back to baseline grinding.

Re: Things you want Maria to achieve/do in 2013.
DESTROY Serena Williams on the court. Defeat her in humiliating fashion in every slam final this year.
Own Azarenka on the court, beat her so bad she considers retirement.
Send Venus Williams into retirement by detroying her in her last Wimbledon.
Win the calender slam
Win Tennis Player of the Year
Win ESPY Sportswoman of the Year
Play a GOLDEN MATCH against Serena at Wimbledon in the final (winning every single point).
Beat Nadal in a clay court exhibition 6-0 6-0 6-0
End the year undefeated with 13 titles and 10x0 against Serena, leading Williams to have a mental breakdown and then subsequent retirement from the sport.

Re: Things you want Maria to achieve/do in 2013.
Long term I would like to see her have a year she wins atleast 2 slams, and develop a slam she semi dominates, say winning 2 of the next 4 French Opens to give her a total of 3 total and 3 in 5 years. I think those 2 years would greatly elevate her career, and things she is capable of. It depends alot on the Serena factor though, unfortunately I have given up on the idea of her ever beating Serena again probably, let alone in a major, so the first thing that has to happen is Serena to have a fall off or lose prematurely in a number of slams.
For 2013 I would like to see her win atleast 1 slam, whichever that is doesnt matter too much. If she wins a slam in 2013, it is already a successful year, anything more is a bonus.
