Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
Woop. Near enough 50 points in two weeks = one very successful trip. Daria looking very good for AO qualie berth now. Hope she can cap her trip off with a title, though Rogowska will be tough, and Barty is in beast form.

Fell to Olivia in three, 16 64 64. Still a great trip!
Looks like Toyota is next.

Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
Such a shame but as things stand, she's set to be in a Australian open qualifying berth once her points are added, which is what really matters. Great trip down under

Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
(3) Stefanie Voegele (SUI) v (Q)Riko Sawayanagi (JPN)
Daria Gavrilova (RUS) v (Q)Miki Miyamura (JPN)
Junri Namigata (JPN) v (wc)Erika Takao (JPN)
(7/JE)Ashleigh Barty (AUS) v (Q)Risa Ozaki (JPN)
Tough looking Toyota draw. Should beat the qualifier, but then it'll get tricky.

Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
She gave eventual titlist Stephanie Voegele a fight, but fell to her 57 67(5).
Now she's playing Dubai. Another tough draw. Potentially faces #1 Irina Begu in the second round.

Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
Hope this doesn't ruin her chances to get into AO Qualification. I think she's losing a few points soon, so it'd be touch and go. This probably would have been enough in 2012, but looking at the entry list, a lot of players withdrew this year..

Re: Daria Gavrilova the new russian generation
Dasha's rankings ascension so far:
2010 515
2011 383
2012 215
Just out of the Top 200. How will she do this year?
Officially the second tournament of 2013 for her; she again has a tough opening match, and her draw...

Well, hopefully she can keep up the trend of climbing about 150 spaces per year, though realistically, I think a good year would be getting into or around the top 100.
