To be fair to him, that was back in 2008 and maybe her French just improved although it's still abit rude to point out in the article that he thought her French sucked.

Oh yeah, it may account for the comment. I find it a bit rude as well. I actually heard her speak French just this year at AO, French TV was interviewing her about having to play Mathilde Johansson (who she trains and shares a coach with) and her French was definitely impressive.

Update:
In group 5, Kerber leads the way by some distance with half of the votes so far. Kerber looks safe to go through as group winner at the moment, but it's not voer until wednesday. 22 points behind is Maria Kirilenko in 2nd place, who also looks fairly comfortable to go through. Tamria Paszek is in 3rd place with 46 points. The battle for the final qualifying place is interesting as Schiavone only leads Cetsova by 3 points.
