I would love to play a few international events when I finally finish my PhD sometimes next year and give myself a bigass holiday. A good friend in NY is top on the list so I'll have to visit when a US Open is on - either the pro one or the GLTA one.

If all goes well with my training this year I plan on entering:
Toronto, ON - Canada. (05/18/2013-05/20/2013)
Columbus, OH - USA. (07/19/2013-07/21/2013)
New Hope, PA - USA. (08/24/2013-08/26/2013)
...my only qualm is that I'm rated 3.5 USTA, but I went 2-8 (singles) and 3-1 (doubles) this season.
So ... the skills are there, but my mental game is SH!T, I'm not sure which bracket(s) I should aim for to play.
Thoughts?

Yeah, the Gay & Lesbian US Open is played in Stanford at the Bank of the West Classic site and the school has there courts streamed online.  It was tons of fun. Going back next year.

I think you should work your ass off for the next few months and play B's. That way we can play dubs as I have to play A or Open singles.

B's for singles, and A's for dubs? I can work towards that. I've actually won a couple 8.0 USTA Mixed Doubles and Doubles matches (each of the opponents were 4.0's) so that's a positive sign. It's my singles mental game that needs help,  .

My big tournament is next weekend! 
I'm the 3rd seed in A grade singles and me and my partner are the 4th seeds in A grade doubles.
I've actually been training and eating a proper diet so I'm actually fit and healthy. Fingers crossed I do alright!
