New players always do well in their first tournament. Then it's a return to the status quo of the tour.

Re: ART Toronto (Rogers Cup) G2- Week 17
Ahhhh Congratulations to the No.3 seeds Zheng and Peng for winning the title here in Toronto!! This was a massive title win, and both are looking very good for the US Open!! Bagged points for their ranking and hopefully that will help them in the US Open!! Big congratulations to both the Chinese duo and their Coach longtin_23!

Cibulkova

Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) DEF. Donna Vekic (CRO)
3-6, 6-4, 6-4
The Croat very well had the match in her hands as was set to be the youngest player ever to win a ART Title, and a big one too! Vekic started out very confident bashing balls and winners everywhere as Cibulkova, the Queen of all comebacks couldn't work her opponent out. Cibulkova just couldn't find a way into the match. However coming into the second set the Croat took the lead again at 2-0, but started to struggle in the third game. It looked evident that the Croat had become nervy and was not use to closing out matches in a big occasion like this. Cibulkova kept her relaxed, composed body at least pressure as possible, as she started to take her time on the ball and outlast the young Croat in all of the rallies pulling the Final into a final set. Both played some fantastic tennis up until 4-4 as the Croat struggled with the expectation again. Cibulkova managed to break and serve out a fantastic service game as a reward where she won her first ART Title since her departure nearly six months ago. Donna Vekic has had an exceptional week and has got many heads turning. We are sure that this girl is in for big things. She will already have amassed some decent points to her ranking in only one tournament. Let's hope that she can keep the consistancy up!! And for Domi, well she is back, a fantastic match and job as she takes one of her biggest titles! Can she now go on to win her first Grand Slam maybe?
