Re: Are you afraid of dying?
IDK if I'm afraid of it. I don't want to but I'm young so I don't feel like I'm going to and my beleifs are set in stone at the minute.
I think the scariest part is the doubt of what happens next. I wouldn't feel that until I was older or found out I was terminally ill I don't think.

Re: Are you afraid of dying?
When I was younger I was very scared, but when now I am older, I do not, I just do not want to die young...

In fact, I'm not scared of getting old let alone dying. We've been taught in the young age that, "When A Life Takes Birth, It Has To Die."
But I often wonder how would I look once I cross 70s, say my Skin/Teeth/Hair/Eyes etc. Until now I'm fortunate enough without any ailments be it health or mental (due to personal/financial etc). And I'm lucky enough to escape eye sight problem even after spending 2+ decades heavily working with Electronics and Computers.
My only wish is to die peacefully in bed without any (chronic) health problems. If it's destined then in presence of my future wife...

I have a friend that died on the operating table and was revived and her experience was that death was quite peaceful and she felt no fear. I believe that one dies as one lives.

Re: Are you afraid of dying?
I'm not afraid of death, I just hope it's not painful/violent. That's my only concern.

Re: Are you afraid of dying?
I'm afraid of dying slowly but not afraid of dying if it can be quick as easy. I'm in my 60s now and have lived much of my life. Sad to say, it was not as happy or as fulfilled as I'd hoped and worked for. Therefore, if I had to option to croak comfortably, I wouldn't complain too much.

Re: Are you afraid of dying?
^ meant to say above "quick and easy"
BTW, as an infant, I was declared dead due to respiratory and cardiac problems. Somehow, I pulled through. Therefore, it might be said I've live my life on borrowed time.

Especially so seeing as there is no evidence that our consciousness lives on or is as transcendent as our culture represents it to be. I used to believe that we had an immortal soul but I've lost that faith, sadly for me.

As a matter of fact, that is the only thing that comforts me. What I'm afraid of is an immortal consciousness doomed to eternally roam the universe thinking over and over about everything I screwed up while alive... of which there's a lot. If I knew for sure it's just a blackout and eternal oblivion, I wouldn't really worry.
