Re: Most shocking losses this year?
To me Makarova win is more shocking than Razzano cause Razzano could always trouble top players and Serena is playing crap in Paris for a long ass time.
Serena losing in R16, in Melbourne? It's like unbelievable.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Razzano def. S. Williams 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 (French Open 1R)
I'll never understand it. Other than Serena just mentally lost it, feeling the pressure after a great clay court season.

Goerges defeating Radwanska in the opening round of the Olympics was pretty shocking.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Serena's loss to Razzano is the clear winner. Followed by the loss of one set to Yakimova at Fed Cup.
I'd also go for Lucic d. Bartoli at Wimbledon. Wasn't expecting this even though we know Miki is a dangerous grass-courter.

I don't think there was anything surprising about this one.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Obviously Razzano def Serena. That match still boggles my mind. It was just like a slow motion train wreck.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Razzano by far. The odds for her to win against Serena were 23.70 compared to Serena's 1.01 to beat her.
Don't think we'll see an upset with odds that big for a while.
