Thought she would have made it to the Final!! grrr!! However, not a bad result as clay is not Irena's best surface!

Pavlovic, la Française qu'on n'attendait pas
La Française Irena Pavlovic a remporté à 23 ans son premier match sur le grand circuit en se qualifiant pour le deuxième tour de Roland-Garros face à la Taiwanaise Chang Kai-Chen (6-4, 7-5) dimanche.
"A la balle de match, j'ai pensé à mes proches, j'étais contente pour eux. C'est toujours à part quand on est à la maison", a déclaré la joueuse née à Belgrade, qui a bénéficié d'une invitation pour le tournoi parisien.
Grand espoir chez les jeunes, l'actuelle 176e mondiale a connu des problèmes de santé et d'entourage qui ont nui à son éclosion.
"Ce match, je l'aurais perdu il y a un an. Mais j'ai eu la bonne attitude. Quand j'étais petite, je gagnais tout. Mais j'ai eu des problèmes de santé et je n'étais pas forcément bien entourée. Il a fallu que je me détache de ce que les gens pouvaient me dire. Je ressentais trop de pression. Aujourd'hui, je ne me mets pas de limites", a déclaré Pavlovic, arrivée en France à l'âge de 3 ans.
Elle rencontrera l'Espagnole Anabel Medina Garrigues ou la Britannique Laura Robson au prochain tour.

Irena Pavlovic Summer season Summer-up!
At Wimbledon, Irena reached the final round of the qualies beating E.Sema (16th seed-n°134): 6/0 6/4 before falling to n°148 Kryst.Plyskova who reached the 2nd rd of the MD.
Irena moved o the United States with average results:
-Missing opportunity at Yakima $50K: As Top seed, Reached the QF falling to surprising winner n°383 Rogers.
-Reached the 2nd Rd at the qualies $740K Carlsbad losing to n°161 Y.J Chan
-Reached the 2nd Rd at Lexington $50K falling to n°240 but former n°30 Mattek Sands
-Reached the 2nd Rd at Bronx $50K losing to n°126/5th seed Ormaechea
She started pretty well at the US OPEN qualies upsetting one of the young german guns!
IRENA PAVLOVIC BEATS ANNIKA BECK (24th seed-n°133): 6/0 5/7 7/6
Good luck for the next round vs n°223 Simmonds!
BTW, Irena reached her career highest ranking: n°143 (July 16, 2012)
