Kim Clijsters sets farewell match
http://espn.go.com/tennis/story/_/id...venus-williams
BRUSSELS -- Kim Clijsters will play a ceremonial farewell match on Dec. 12 against Venus Williams.

The 29-year-old Belgian, a four-time Grand Slam winner, initially retired in 2007 only to make a return to the sport two years later. This time, she insists her retirement is f

Re: Kim Clijsters sets farewell match
I thought her farewell match was against Robson? Seems odd considering it's just an exho, not a real farewell match.

How many times has she farewelled us?
Ah, I don't mind her playing exos, but is she really calling this a farewell match? She should just buy beer for Belgians again.

Re: Kim Clijsters sets farewell match
It's lovely that Venus agreed to this. I hope this will be streamed. It is nice that her farewell match will be against a long time rival. Losing to Laura was a symbolic changing of the guard but it would have been nice to lose against someone she's had more history with.

Re: Kim Clijsters sets farewell match
Kim does like the term " farewell" over all those years
Regardless, it would be fun to see her play matches against, preferably Kim playing in Hopman cup represent Belgium as it doesn't have a decent female player at top level now. For single matches, I'd like to Kim have rematches with Serena, Vika and Maria before Venus. A match with Aga would be interesting to see whose defense is better at the moment.

Yanina? I know she's not top 10 but she is still a top 30 player and made finals this year.

Just go away already
This farewell tour has been longer than Henin's comeback.

Re: Kim Clijsters sets farewell match
Yup, this is approaching comedy levels. What if she ever decides to World Tour Tennis or Grand Slam Legends or other events aimed (or partially aimed) at retired players?
