This is such an amazing result for Maria and Portuguese tennis too I am not sure but I think she is the 1st ever portuguese women to enter AO MD, even before MLB And to think she almost didn't go there...

Maria has beaten Patterson 6-3 6-4, she says on facebook she was very focused on her serve game and it paid out for her well, she was feeling the heat and when she finished the match it was around 37ŗC so it was very hot, and she was proud of the result in the conditions she had

She faces Arina Rodionova, who was hardly impressive against ParraSantonja, I think if Maria is playing well she will definatly win this one and get a spot on the Main Draw. Plus big big feature, she will be on Show Court 3 who has a livestream so we will see her play
