Hard luck Kathie, but Patterson can play some good tennis. Great to see her back.

The most impressive thing though is having Peers involved in any kind of 60 60 win

Miyabi too steady for azra....for azra's physical shape she needs to step in and flatten out her shots a bit more....too tentative reminds me sort of like Mirkovic in that regard.
Ishizu is in good form, dangerous floater in the draw...way too good here...
Tanaka was too steady in a weird match....as most japanese players do she took a toilet break after the second set disaster and come back some time later composed and closed out the match...thankfully it wasnt as long as Higuchi took after ryan won the second set of her qr2 match...

Good win for storm even though chiaki is in a slump...storm for once started the match well....Nicole Pratt is here and has been working with her a lot in recent days, she still wasn't at her best but was backing herself out there today and going for her shots... Chiaki and Lim combined well to beat Rogowska and Larriere....this afternoons matches were played in very cold tempretures....
Bobusic and Moore struggled early before finally finding some form together to get through to the next round....Kramperova and Zlochova were extremely lucky to get through....a couple of lucky shots and a badly missed smash from the japanese girls... Ryan and Moriarty also unlucky to go down in a tight late match....they were playing the better tennis but just couldn't take enough opportunities... Sharma/Harris should also be kicking themselves as they took their foot off too much when they had the match within reach...
Side note - Hsu will get no ranking points for this event as she should of been in osaka qualies....

An interview with Lizette Cabrera would be really nice
She looks promising and I want to learn more things about her.
