Turnings Things Around

Osaka (FWTT) -- The historical commerce center of Japan serves as the host of the FWTT Osaka tournament where top seeds Alina Patersson and Yoona Im aim to uphold their seeding and vie for the title. Striving to keep this from happening will be Miss Natalia Torres, a Puerto Rico native and resident of the Steel City Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It will not be so easy for Miss Torres.

Osaka literally translates to large hill or large slope, and a hill of a challenge presents itself to Natalia as she will try to break a five match losing streak when she faces the second seed Im in the first round. When asked about her recent draws, she was humble in her response: "Well the last few tournaments I have drawn top four seeds in the first round, and as frustrating as this might be, it is also a big opportunity to learn about myself as a player and as a person facing adversity".

Winning the singles title would return her record to the five-hundred mark at 8 wins and 8 losses for 2012 while a doubles quarterfinal finish would keep her at the five-hundred mark reaching a 2012 record of 7-7. "I try not to think about the metrics. Honestly once I feel more comfortable with my game I'll work out the strategy and all that behind the scenes. For now my focus is to play better and stay healthy," her beaming smile lighting up the press room as the tournament director called time on the afternoon interview sessions.
