Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
I use semi-western and hit a pretty loopy ball on that side. It's great when I play on clay, but lately I've been playing on hard courts so I try more to hit my 2-handed bh which is flatter.

Eastern. The Hawaiian grip would be hilar.

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
How awkward. I always use a semi-western grip, but I have very little spin on my shots. I don't like spin, I prefer BBB-ing my way through life haha. Sometimes I think I'm more Eastern than Semi, but that depends how good I'm playing.
I experimented for a little with a continental grip for my serve, but it ruined it.

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
I use a western grip and thats why my forehands are always so flat, like I am talking about absolutely no spin.
I have learned to play with a lot more spin now, maybe too much at times!

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
It's somewhere between eastern and semi-western, meaning my first knuckle isn't right in the middle on the second bevel, but closer to the third bevel, yet not on the third bevel. Or something like that. I actually get quite a lot of spin, but that might just be my strings or racquet.

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
One time I thought it would be a great idea to start hitting forehand groundstrokes with a continental grip
That lasted exactly one drill. My coach has me using semi-western now because he wants me to stop slamming it out on every even slightly important point – i mean, get more spin.

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
I change my grip based on a shot that I wanna make. If I want to generate power, I use Eastern, and if I want to add spin to it I use Semi-Western. The latter is an awesome grip for the times that you are in trouble because it confuses the player who expect a flat ball coming through, however it takes some time to get used to when you start switching into it from other grips.

Re: What Grip Do You Use On Your Forehand Side
I use semi-western. I think continental was used for every stroke in early tennis history using those wooden racquets and all.
