I thought going in to the Final, "...she was playing the best tennis of her career"?
And to think that for the first time in years, I was actually going to watch a Final without my fav being one of the contenders; but now I'm glad something came up.
What a ridiculous scoreline for the #2 player in the world.
Is it even worth watching the highlights?

Still, CONGRATULATIONS TO AZARENKA!!
Once again, the better player won.

Maria has a greater chance of beating Serena, than of that ever happening. A lost cause if I ever saw one.

I don't understand how Sharapova fans think she even has a chance against Serena, when she can't even take out Azarenka hahaha

Awesome job princess Vika!!!

No, dummy -- it's just 7 for the whole match (6 in the first set, 1 in the second), not 7+6. Not that 7 DFs isn't pathetic enough.

7 DFs only 6 in the first, 1 in the second

Phew!
Thanks.
I just woke up and saw the double stat posting and thought it was a 1st set & 2nd set stat.

Oh so according to Pova fans, it's her serving letting her down again. Yet she hit only 1 double fault in the second set and barely escaped a bagel? Something's not adding up.

Re: Beijing F: Azarenka def. Sharapova 6-3, 6-1

The depth of Azarenka's groundstrokes is ridiculous. I noticed during their US Open match that Sharapova was screaming at herself to hit to Azarenka's forehand - but her forehand was far more solid in that match and today's match than Sharapova's.
