If anyone has forgotten it's not because they're delusional. Since then, Sharapova swept the red clay season, completed the career grand slam, got back to #1, won a silver medal, and lost a heartbreaker in the US Open SF. And she's in another PM SF as we speak....

Out of the top 4 Maria is the major underdog, she has a losing h2h against Serena, Vika and Aga this year. I don't think she's going far this YEC.

Radwanska's record isn't really that surprising either... but I don't think it's fair to diss her for it. The strength of her game is in her consistency and control, and a fellow top player with a bigger game is going to do well against her if they play well. However, she makes up for it by almost never losing to non-top players, whereas many of the other top girls who have the bigger games (Kvitova, etc) are more prone to having a bad day versus a lower ranked player. Also, I think it's important to credit Radwanska for trying to become more aggressive and trying to add to her serve and ground game in order to make herself a bigger threat to other top players.

Well said! It's funny but back in the day I never "got" Hingis- I couldn't understand how she could win with her game but now that my tennis IQ is a bit higher I can now appreciate a player like Radwanska. I love watching her play and as a side effect it's allowed me to appreciate Hingis more.

LMAO @ the difference w/ the alternates and w/o the alternates
originally Na leads Maria & Vika by a small margin
but adding in Samantha who owns Na but is owned by Maria & Vika boosts the tall girls advantage while making Na look average

Maria is lucky Serena didn't take her seriously in Wimbledon 2004. And Maria wishes that she gave that Olympics match away. and Vika is lucky that Serena played that final in Miami when everyone was telling her not to play cause clearly she wouldn't that match whatever she does. Kerber won against a drunk Serena.
