Shame Vesnina doesn't play like this all the time. I was wondering whats been happening with her this year, and then this performance just makes me wonder even more!

Too up and down from both players but a few good moments. Vesnina played well then goes off then plays well again.

She didn't play that well either, she goes off after a close game. And cannot take advantage of opportunities.

I think this match showed why, she is too in and out to be a top player, though her skills and attitude are of a top player, her focus is questionable.

I missed the end of the second set.. but Vesnina was playing really well for her standards! Vika was a bit shaky on serve, but groundstrokes and ROS look great. Powerful, deep and consistent hitting.
