Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
My weight is perfect for my height, but I've got a bit of belly and my stamina is so freaking low. Yesterday I left a match unfinished trailling 6-3 2-2, then when I came back today 2 games later my energy was already very low, trailling at 5-3 in the 2nd I made a superhuman effort and won it 7-5, but in the 3rd I just couldn't and I lost it 6-2. I've been thinking about starting jogging something like 3 days a week, you know with slow intervals of running and walking, so that in a few months I can already jog a lot without having to stop, I guess that will help me a lot for tennis, won't it? (excuse my English, usually it's better but today I'm so tired I won't even bother to care about it )

And breathing on court, one of the keys to get the necessary energy to come back and win the 2nd set was monitoring my breath in between points.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
I've been doing so good for so long but recently I've had someone staying w.me and as a result my routines are all out if sync. I've stopped cooking and started eating fast-food. My house guest has been a big source of stress and tension and I find myself eating ridiculous amounts of unhealthy food. The only good news is that I was able to see that I'm over eating because of stress- and the better news is that I'm kicking my house guest out next Wednesday! I will restock my fridge w.the good and healthy stuff and HOPEFULLY get back on track!

Hodid you let that happen It's seems to me that most ppl are not conscious enough that they're eating. They do it soooo robotically machinally (if that's a word) that they don't even notice that they're eating bad or too much... Which is very strange to me lol

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
Ok- I'm officially back on track! No fad dieting this time around and I'm not killing myself at the gym. I've made a life style change and lucky for me one of my favorite foods is vegetables. So I will double my intake of those, eat more organic and raw foods, cut out juice and processed food and cutback on fast-food. I'm not expecting miracles but this should at least get me on the road to a healthier and leaner me. I just restocked my fridge and through out the junk. Wish me luck!

Just ran 13 miles. Felt so good, my schedule has been so off since Sandy.

I miss running, unfortunately though I have a somewhat severe injury on the muscles sorounding the pantella so it gets really painful for me when I try to run.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
Well the good news is I'm down 20lbs the bad news is that I'm facing a huge, potentially life changing, event that could be disastrous and horrific for me. I'm at a stage where I just have to wait and see how things play out (don't want to get into the personal details).
This enormous stress I'm currently under is making me turn to my drug of choice food. I baked a cake last night and ate half of it and I won't even tell u how many bowls of chili I had. I wish I could diffuse stress by working out but I'm fighting just to keep a positive attitude about my life and current circumstances. If I didn't know before I know it now- I'm totally a stress eater.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
Damn, sounds big, eating is a conscious volontary action though, you should have more control, at least choose what you eat correctly, you could eat celeri endlessly for example and wouldnt gain a gram. Anyway congrats on the 20 pounds off and good luck with that huge thing whatever it is!! Working out does evacuate stress though, litterally, so try to go to the gym even more.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast
^good advice as always my friend- Thanks! I'm keeping all the bad food out so if I do go crazy it will be w.healthy food like u suggest. As for the gym I'm too depressed to even leave my house so the thought of the gym is so far out of my mind. I think I will just flat out force myself to go 2mrw I know when I was working out regularly I loved the feeling afterward anything to get myself out of the house and to quite my mind!

It's a vicious cycle, give yourself a kick in the butt, Gym will help with all that if you manage to get there, which can't be that hard.

I know it's easier said than done, but you should not let the stress take control over you. In fact, if you could have 5 healthy meals a day and some work out, it could help you to deal with stress better. As I said, it's much easier said and done, but remember that binge eating not only that can't help you, it will make it worse. It will make you feel the guilt, it will make you feel depressed. If you gain your weight back, you will feel like all your effort was useless. And trust me, when you gain weight after big effort, it's so hard to find motivation. So, when you feel like eating, take a walk, go to gym, call a friend, visit some sites about weight loss, think about all your effort to lose weight and mostly important convince yourself that it's not gonna solve anything. Or find some other autosuggestion technique, but don't eat unless you're hungry.
