I dont think her back injuries will let her play again.
Even if she gets healthy enough to practice again, its probably dangerous to her back to try to play the tour at a high level again.
You need your back your whole life.
That injury was so unfortunate because she was #1 and was in 3 slam finals & 2 semis in just over a year. She was a regular fixture in week 2 of majors, especially at the French Open, which then was won by Schiavone and Li when she couldnt play
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE
Good for her that her normal life is not affected by the back. Although she doesn´t want to close the door on tennis, you get the sense that her back cannot tolerate professional sports and that she has moved on with her life going to university. For her tennis fix she can just stay in touch with Vika, who shares a lot of similarities.
My fav has won 24 Slams, I´m always right!
Read the Bible.
Quiet. 24 SLAMS.
thanks for the link.
this bit makes me think that we won't see her back:
"I have [the pain] so deep in my mind it overcomes my desire," she said of the lingering memory. "Whenever I think like, 'Oh maybe (I'll try to come back), then I feel like the pain is so deep inside, I get afraid. This is the feeling I have, I cannot go through it right now."
I don't think she's done. I think she is setting herself for a good life out of tennis and once she has done that and her body is well rested she will come back at age 28 and win the French Open aged 30
Here's dreaming anyway
Lovely article. Dinara comes across as such a down to earth cool girl.
