Re: Maria s ranking.
Is Marbella one of her 16 best tournaments?
After Miami, the difference between Maria and Vika will be of around 700 points.

I think so 280 points is her 16th best result but she won titles at both Marbella and Luxembourg so I dunno if they are both included in that If they're both not included Vika would lose 280 points from Marbella but then the 280 from Luxembourg would be added
If they are both included and Vika loses almost another 300 points the difference between her and Maria could be around 400 and a title at Stuttgart would have Maria as number one Even if she doesn't win there she will probably get it at Madrid where Vika has 700 final points to defend - If Vika lost early, Maria could only need a win or two at Madrid to overtake her

Re: Maria s ranking.
Have a question, now that Azarenka lost to Cibulkova today, how far does Maria needs to go, to get the number one spot?

Thnx, hope Masha will win this thing, her draw isn't that hard anymore only Kvitova could give her some trouble, but Maria is playing consistent and pretty well.

Re: Maria s ranking.
Hopefully Masha will beat Kvitova to regain the nr. 1 ranking. Though to me is more important to have a better run after Wimbly than last year. Hopefully no injuries when it matters most.

Agreed. Maria will be OK if she is healthy.
Maria will defend Wimbledon's 1,400 points soon. After that, she won't have many more to defend other than Cincy's 900 points.

Re: Maria s ranking.
And there's a good chance to finish the year at number one. Vika needs to win at least Wimbly or US/Open. Petra I'd say too many points to defend. Can't see Aga winning a slam. So yes there's a good chance. As longs as Masha doesn't get a long term injury.

Re: Maria s ranking.
Hey guys, can Maria become #1 during the OG? If so, how far does she have to go in the draw?

I think so. Masha is 470 points behind Vika, so Vika needs to lose early and Maria needs to win

if Vika:
a) < 3rd place then Maria must be 2nd or better
b) 3rd or better then keeps No 1

Re: Maria s ranking.
Vika needs to do really well here at the Olympics and in Montreal! The #1 ranking has to be saved! Maria at #2 would be great!
