Surprise-Surprise!!!!
Unless Bethanie is still injured, this was a huge surprise.
Glushko beats Bethanie 6-2 6-0.

Re: Julia Glushko
I'm really stunned Julia beat Beth so easily. I love Beth (my 2nd fave) but this is a great result for Julia but I think Beth is still injured so we can't really get a good read out of this match. But still, great week so far!

Re: Julia Glushko
Just wonderful form, she'll play doubles final later too..
Next opponent: Misaki Doi (JPN, #127), they played twice on junior tour (1-1) and in 2011 Doi won in 3 sets, or Johanna Konta (GRB,#235) they played three times (twice juniors tour) and Julia won all of the matches
GL! it's possible!

Re: Julia Glushko
Julia wins the biggest tournament of her career.
Glusko/Konta 6-3 6-0
Is this finally the big breakthrough? Did Israel send the wrong player to the Olympics?

Yes. Julia is so likable too because of her hot temper.
Where's she playing next week?

Re: Julia Glushko
It's not just the title - and unlike the Canadian one this was a real 50K - it's the way she did it. Very impressive
Making the doubles final was a nice bonus.
Now back it up with a deep run at the 100K next week.

It's not like you to ask a thing like that...
Slumping and all, Shahar still has 4 top-50 wins this year. Julia has beaten one top-100 opponent in her entire career (two if you count beating Shahar herself in the non-ranking national champs).
Let her change that and make a WTA main draw first before we send her to the Olympics.

Re: Julia Glushko
Coming off the victory in Kentucky, Julia's ranking jumped to 173 this week.

That's great. Her spot in the US qualifying is probably safe
