^Serena wasn't nominated..It was the 4 slam winners at that time Maria,Petra,Sam Vika..although she probably would had a good shot even with Serena there.

Pova or any female for that matter never win an award up against male athletes..As a side note..as a fan of american football and most other sports,the guy who won wasn't even the best choice even without Maria.
