Re: Roland Garros 2012: Victorious Moo
Hello to everyone, just registered (although I have been monitoring the forum for a while) and I have this awesome Maria tribute video to share with you.
A video showing how Maria came back through all the hardships, and difficult times to reach greatness in a whole new level. I consider this a highly inspirational video and I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks a lot, I was tempted to register on this board a lot of times, but being a member of the board in Masha's official site for so long, kinda delayed it! Happy to be here now though, and most happy to finally see Maria make it!

I like the Australian one. Sounds nice. But emotion wise- NZ anthem in fanfare, one verse no words (otherwise its loooong)

Re: Roland Garros 2012: Victorious Moo
As much as I wanted Maria to win Wimbledon and the AO, I'm kind of glad that RG was the first slam she won after her injury.
Just the fact that she completed the career slam and is finally, truly, back. It makes it so much more special.

Yeah, winning Roland Garros just fits so perfectly, now everything else would just be a huge bonus

I'm new here and was wondering what people here felt her chances were at the French Open beforehand?Like what the reaction at TF after the AO was..

A lot of people thought that she could do well here even after the AO. I think there was a thread created shortly after it actually. Considering her success last year we were very optimistic for the clay, we were only worried whether she would actually manage to win a final or not. But after Stuttgart most people on here felt she had a great chance. After Rome she was the favourite, and while Serena had to be the favourite on paper anyone who knew her history with RG knew she simply wasn't going to win, once she went out the only person really left in Maria's way was Li, once she was out really only Petra could have been able to stop her - and that was a long shot given form/surface. So no, it wasn't really that big of a shock.
EDIT: Although of course we as fans fretted the whole tournament.

I had a really good feeling about it, then I saw she had Serena in her draw and that feeling was gone
Then Serena lost in her first match, and from that moment on I was really positive, felt that she could win it all.
Of course, the further she got, the more nervous I got
