I don't think heavy conditions are a problem, but the wind is.

This.
But its so tough to not think about all the things she will achieve with the title.
But well one match at a time.

Exactly. People don't seem to realise that when the clay is heavy, although it does play slower, the bounce is lower - which is also a good fit for Maria because her shots are mostly flat. It's if ever a claycourt is slow + high-bouncing that it would be hell for Maria (and heaven for someone like Stosur or Schiavone).

This is accurate. At RG the court conditions is never as big a problem as the wind. I'm not happy with Vika's exit but well considering her history against Cibulkova this loss is not shocking. Hopefully Masha's not putting too much pressure on herself. And judging from these GOAT press conferences she's giving, I think she's having a ball of a time.

Conditions get even worse for the rest of the week, except for tuesday.
Don't get me wrong, horrible conditions are not necessarily bad for Pova, she can improvise at least as well as her opponents, but they are still miserable and nasty to have to deal with and she looks better with the sun shining softly on her hair.

"Slamless #1"? Oh please. When she first got #1 spot in August 2005, her Wimbledon (2004 victory I mean) points didn't count towards her ranking yet she was never treated like Caro, or JJ, or Dinara, or I don't know if I forgot anyone, was.
And most importantly, who cares? Titles are what matters the most

Yea this is quite frankly unsettling if the conditions remain as inconsistent as today. I hope the both Fed and Nole get through.

Masha has great road to SF, but Na Li is VERY dangerous....and in final Stosur also had MP against her.

I'm probably here enough to have learned not to be surprised at this stuff. I should have known better.
But this tournament is pretty crazy anyway, so GM madness is just too much sometimes.
