Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
Are we sure because of Serena's seeding she'll be in Maria's half anyway?

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
Seeds 1, 2, 3 and 4 will meet one of the 5, 6, 7, 8 seeds in QFs (not in particular order)...so it's possible...Serena will be seeded 5 and maria, 2

For some reasons, seed 5 plays seed 4 quite often even though it's supposed to be random.

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
if i am not mistaken 25% they can meet in QF , 25% thay can meet in SF and 50% they can meet in Final
We should not forget that even reach QF is a long path with some very tough players on the way (like Ivanovic, Kuznetsova, Barthel etc )

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
I do want a tough draw for Maria. The tougher the better for her. She already knows that she can beat every player out there except maybe Serena as she proved it in her two tournament wins this year so she needs to get into a successful start that's why I would like to see her face Venus in the early rounds .

Yes, it's quite an achievement to reach QF of any slams, to be the best 8 in the world!

My only wish is that Serena would land on the other side of the draw.
Don't mind tough draw though. She always sucked when the draw opened up

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
The one potential early opponent who's giving me terrifying thoughts is Kuznetsova, who she could meet as early as the 3RD ROUND Everyone's overlooking her atm - understandable because she's been particularly shit even for her recent standards lately, but she ALWAYS steps it up for the Slams - she's only lost before the 3rd round at a Slam once throughout her entire slump, and of course she's well capable of suddenly producing GOAT play at RG in particular (even last year she made a run to the QFs out of nowhere despite having a shitty lead-up similar to this year).

That match against Vorackova or whatever in Auckland has to be the most dreadful thing I've ever witnessed in tennis.

Comparing Maria's seasons in 2009 and 2010 really does illustrate just how important the mind is in this sport. The tennis she produced between May and August in 2010 was farandaway better than anything she produced at any point in 2009, yet despite that she somehow managed to finish 2010 ranked 4 places lower than a year where she missed the first third of the season primarily because 2010 was the most headcasey period her career, whereas in 2009 she could always be relied onto fight like a trojan even when she was playing abysmally (most of the time at that point).

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
Aside from Kuznetsova, is there any chance maria can meet Petrova? Of course, Nadia is practically her bitch, but she can bring her serve and peak form when matters, especially on clay
The other potentially tricky opponents would be Barthel, Cibulkova (she always gives maria nightmares on clay ), Pennetta ( ), Safarova, Kanepi, Goerges. Although half of these mugs are in slump, they always bring on their match-of-their-life form when facing Maria

Yep, she's in the same 25-32 range as Kuznetsova. Maria can meet any of the following in the 3rd round
[25]Cetkovska
[26]Goerges
[27]Kuznetsova
[28]Petrova
[29]Peng
[30]Medina
[31]Barthel
[32]Zheng
Maria playing Russian's has always been a huge relief to me tbh. All of them are her bitches, or one win away from being her bitches I think she just LOVES beating them
Kuznetsova is great on clay. She'd probably take a set against Maria but fold like a cheap Decathlon tent the moment she realizes who's on the other side of the net. Maria can be VERY intimidating, especially when you start thinking of some of her stats and comebacks, especially the 3rd-set GOAT status Sexlana would not be able to keep up with Maria's fight.
I'd like her to draw Barthel or Petrova. Big servers so she gets to practice her return before meeting the GOAT server in the later stages of the tournament
By the way, for the 4th round she'll meet one of the following
[13]Ivanovic
[14]Schiavone
[15]Cibulkova
[16]Kirilenko
I want Ivanovic please no Kirilenko I hate that match-up

Re: Paris 2012: Moo fighting for glory on the red dirt !
oh thanks....barthel, kuzzy, nadia, julia, peng are all in the 25-32 range
she might probably draw Goerges in R3 and Cibulkova in R4
about Kirilenko, it's the best if maria doesn't have to play her ever again...sharapova plays like serena is at the other side of the court while playing kirilenko
