The organizers [of this tournament] want to position themselves as being the cutting edge of innovation in tennis; always thinking out of the box, one step ahead of the other events.
Expect more unusual and "whacky" stuff in coming years.
Tiriac comes accross as an eccentric fellow who will keep pushing the envelope and is oblivious to criticism.

I'm quite sure Serena couldn't care less what the trophy looks like. If the check doesn't clear the bank, on the other hand, then Ion Tiriac will have Serena's undivided attention.
