All Big Ten teams are setup that way. If two or three teams have the best record at the end of the regular season, they are Co-Big Ten Champions. It happen this year in Men's Basketball too where Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State were Co-Big Ten Champions!! The head to head matches during the regular season only matter for seeding in the Big Ten tournament!

Re: Midwest
That makes sense Johnny.
In now looking at both press releases, the headlines and photo's of both teams holding trophies and celebrating are pretty similar so I wouldn't pick on NU's journalism capabilities too much.......

Coach Bernstein's father passed away this morning, so she was handling that. It was nice for the girls to win it for her.

I'm not blaming the team! I'm questioning their journalists or SID on being so arrogant and I see it a lot at Northwestern!

tennisbuddy....Ohio State played really well today in the singles matches! A couple breaks the other way in the three set matches and it could have been a different result!

Re: Midwest
Sorry tennisbuddy to rip your school but the first day of the Big Ten tournament today could have gone a lot better! Ohio State, the host team started the tournament at least 2 hours late because of rain, but why did they wait so long to move the matches indoors! First day matches lasted until almost 10pm tonight all based on a poor decision not to start the matches earlier. Many of the teams weren't able to attend the Big Ten banquet because they were still playing tennis!

They actually started at 11:15ish, so just over an hour later. It was sprinkling and misting so they weren't sure if play was feasible outside (later, the weather was better, but it was too late). PSU and OSU then had a 5 hour battle, and they were using 3 courts for that and 3 courts for PU and MSU. After PU won rather quickly, they put the remaining 2 matches of PSU-OSU and it was just a battle, full of drama, including PSU's number 4 throwing her racquet at the OSU coach. PSU's number 2 was absolutely crazy and after the match couldn't feel her hands, I don't know if she shocked herself to that. Enough of a report, unless you have questions about any matches at Big Tens, but all matches were long and just went way into the night. It's how the weather went unfortunately.

I think the only "nice" girl was one who wasn't playing. Their sportsmanship winner was rude too.
