Re: Matches of the Week - 2012
Georgia beat Arkansas 7-0 and LSU 6-1, pretty routine SEC matches for them.
On the road next weekend at Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Keep it up, girls! Chelsey is closing in on the all-time win number in the program with four more victories this weekend. Go Chels!

Re: Matches of the Week - 2012
Indiana beats Ohio State 4-3. Great match filled with high-quality tennis. 7th time OSU has played a 4-3 match (only winning one, 2 of those losses had a 3rd set tiebreak and another 7-5 in the 3rd). Also 3 5-2 losses and a 4-2 loss (no doubles against LSU). Really a shame to see these girls I call my friends give it their all, but barely lose. It shows they can be a top 40 team no doubt, so these next Big Ten matches will be interesting.

Tennessee is a case where too many players defecting comes back to bite the team. You know what they say about karma.
- Sophomore Millie Nichols transfers to TCU.
- Sophomore Whitney Wofford transfers to Oklahoma.
- Freshman Alyssa Hibberd gave a verbal to Tennessee but is at Memphis State.
- Tennessee replaced 3 seniors who graduated in Meredith, Sorbello and Alda with 3 freshmen in Williams, Toti and Henderson. So those 3 freshmen weren't the replacements for those 3 that defected.
- So far to replace those 3 Tennessee has only brought in stop gap Grace who's record is 3-7 at the bottom of the line-up.

She was good, but Cecil went up 3-6,3-1 just like against Purdue, but choked and lost 3-6,3-6. Hureau played well, but it was on Cecil's racquet, like it usually is. The Purdue match is going to be in her head for a while I think.

WOW... a day after losing to Illinois the Huskers... PLAYING THEIR LINE UP LEGIT WIT NO STACK... take out Northwestern.
I don't feel so bad about the LB loss... though our 1-3 barely showed up that day.
BUT
Penn State 4, Purdue 3 is just as big a shock. Penn State wins two 3-setters and Rabot at # 1 gets double bagled.
I'm telling you vs LB that Purdue was 'the best team we've faced' according to coach.
THE BIG 10 IS ONE MOTHER OF A LEAGUE THIS YEAR....

Re: Matches of the Week - 2012
at Lied library
Gibbs def. Josifoska in very tight 2 sets (I think 1st set was a tiebreaker),
and I think Burdette def. Batta in 3rd set super tiebreaker.
Naturally both matches ended last.

3. A. Paul/L. Waldron (BYU) def. C. Leduc/C. Lindlar (SMC) 8-4
Order of finish: 2, 3, 1
WTF... So many WTF matches here
Dominating SMC's dbls? And look at those singles scores
Well maybe it's not surprising, Megan Price was good with Jones before Jones went to UCLA I think? And Sheehan-Dizon was good at dbls also during her junior years, so...
But I still can't get over the fact that there were numerous TIGHT 3 sets...!
