I can sing Listen. I doubt Christina would have much trouble.

in the original key? with the F#5 at the bridge? has xtina ever been able to hit a PROPER upper belt (or even a proper healthy E5) for once in her entire career?

Her voice sounds more rough than usual on her belts through this album, but yeah she hits E5s and an F#5 .

My girl Hojo would slay most of these broads, but I guess she's not the same generation.

Seriously? That sounded far from effortless. "To the song here in my *heart*, a melody I start but *I will*". Her emphasis on those words sounded like pain .

Beyonce's melisma is out of control. You're supposed to move the voice with suppleness along with the notes, not vomit them out.

This is why NO ONE can touch Brandy when it comes to runs. She is bad. Effortless and remarkable control. Love that woman...

Can you give me any examples? I really don't know Brandy's music at all
People forget melisma runs and trills have to be conjoined with the music. Notes aren't supposed to stick out at all.

Generation Suck.
Why is Amy Winehouse not on this list? She's easily the best voice we've heard in the last few years. Out of those, Beyonce.

Re: Who is the most talanted female singer of Beyonce's generation?
I think Beyonce is a great singer, great control, love the vibrato, the stacatto on her songs, all great vocals but I think she's a little overrated & overhyped on here, you can hear her scream her way through the higher notes on Listen & those high pitched notes on Halo are not pretty at all, both are among the most acclaimed songs of Beyonce from a vocal view. I think it's a little hypocritical to bash Christina's technique while overlooking Beyonce's own technical flaws.

her runs are excessive and not greatly-controlled only in the beginning when she started out with destiny's child..she has grown more vocally and musically these days.
