Beyonce as a technician beats every woman on this list, twice over.
As car crash as XTina is at times, it's hard to vote against that voice. A year or two ago I would have said her, but Bee's voice improves with every new album + she's consistent. As a voice, X is probably more compelling.
Then I see this
Sometimes that noise, which is TECHNICALLY a hot piece of turd can sound GOOOOOOD. About 1/15 of this is still very emotionally-charged and adds to her general appeal, the rest, is noise.

That Christina video came from the same person who did the Beyonce video? Oh no, they didn't have an agenda. Not at all .
Beyonce is no angel herself. All her ugly growls in this song. Ugh...

Beyonce was obviously channeling Etta (like she was channeling Diana Ross in her non-Listen Dreamgirls songs), and thats how Etta sang. I don't think the growls are ugly at all, I love passionate/soulful singing.

Bee's songs in the soundtrack are just exquisite, such a good job ! Hell that whole album is just Including Solange's '6 O'Clock Blues' !

Similar, yes, the same, no. There's control and more importantly there is purpose and consistency. But again, I love the lack of control and purpose with Christina at times, it makes her performances REAL.

I agree with those that say that Beyonce is more consistent but peak Xtina >>>. Beyonce might be more technically sound but personally, I don't feel anything when I listen to her sing For example, I used to think Listen was a bland song until cover versions started popping up

India.Arie is my favorite artist on the list. She might not have a powerful voice but at least she doesn't strain . Beyonce is the most technically perfect imo.
