Re: Qualifying Draw
@ Meelis:
I am under the impression that players must sit at least on # 375 spot at the entry deadline to be eligible to enter a premier event. Raquel Kops-Jones (USA) & Natalie Grandin (RSA) didn’t meet these criteria. But as there are four QD-WCs (and additional ones for more open spots than on-site Alternates) am I spot on that both players accepted a QD-WC?

Re: Qualifying Draw
All In Q, below 375 get a wc. Ithink (Or they just want to fill the Draw with any players there...)

WTA would rather have has been singles players/doubles specialist rather than any plain Jane

Rodionova got a 3:30pm start tomorrow. She'll have to travel tommorrow very early in the morning and go straight from the airport to the courts. And you have to consider that there is still 2 hours drive from Pattaya to Bangkok airport and be at least 1 hour before the plane takes off. It is night already in Thailand and has just started her match there, I wonder if it's worthy all that rushing to play a qualy match in the worst conditions...

Plus this way the tournament saves on hotel rooms (one of tournaments biggest headaches) as doubles players already have their room being in the doubles draw.

- Am I spot on that Raquel Kops-Jones (USA) & Natalie Grandin (RSA) are not on entry list because they were outside # 375 at the entry deadline?
- Am I spot on that openings in the draw will be filled with on-site alternates in the first place?
- As Tournament only awarded two out of four QD-WC, why didn't they award the remaining two to Raquel Kops-Jones (USA) & Natalie Grandin (RSA)?

Re: Qualifying Draw
any special reason why all those dubz specialists are in the draw
isn't this one of the biggest events in the year?

I assume it's such a high cost to travel to Doha to play in qualifying, and players don't want to run that financial risk unless they are in the MD.
