Me too! I wanna go and it'll be my first time at IW, so not sure if I'll brave it alone...don't want to look lost :P

Have you bought your tickets yet? I'm waiting for the draw as I'm mostly only interested in matches with my favs but hope it doesn't get sold out.

No I haven't bought tickets yet. Will still be having classes during IW, so only able to go during weekends most likely. I'm gonna try to ask around and see if I could get someone to go together with me. Not possible for me go alone.

Even though winning the Paris title wouldn't've meant much in itself (as in, it wouldn't've been something that at the end of the season we would've picked out as one of her highlights), it probably would've been good in giving her some momentum heading into the events that matter....so today's loss kind of sucks in that regard.

But hopefuully now she takes a few days off to recover from her cold and emotionally, and then REALLY steps it up in practice over the next few weeks. I'm going to need her to win either IW or Miami. To do which she needs to work on her forecourt game

At both the AO and here, she squandered so many points by either missing swing volleys/short ball putaways, or hitting them tamely and right to her opponent. I can only assume it's because she just hasn't been pracitising it, because she used to be so good at it as recently as 2009 (i.e. post-surgery). Her serve and footwork which were her undoing most of the time last season have looked much better sofar this season, so hopefully that does free her up to work on her forecourt game in practise now. Rushing to the net and killing off the points there is an absolutely ESSENTIAL tactic for her against the Azarenkas and Wozniackis, who really aren't that quick in raw footspeed and wouldn't be able to chase down her swing volleys/putaways if she actually executed correctly.

Just go! It's the USA, it's easy to make friends on the grounds (just avoid people off the grounds, as always at tennis tournaments).

Yeah, I can only go during the first weekend, waiting to see which day Masha plays. Does she typically play nights on the weekends, does anyone know?

Actually, this is my first live tennis tournament. What's the thing about avoiding people off the grounds?

I heard they have a recycling programme though, can trade-in old balls for new. Not sure if it's only for members of USTA etc.

If I was able to go, I would most likely go during the first weekend as well cos after the second weekend it's our finals week. Not sure about what time she plays though. Really have to wait and see the schedule. Does IW also sell tickets of day and night sessions separately?
I think I'm gonna ask a friend and see whether he's willing to go. Even if he does we still have some other problems to sort out like transportation etc.
I went to US Open last year and despite witnessing Masha losing it was still a great experience. So really want to attend IW since it's the biggest and nearest tourney for me to go.
