Thanks for the feedback. I ordered all three for demo. When you say "Break too easy", are you referring just to intentional smashing on the ground or a defect in construction that causes a fracture from hitting shots or occasionally tapping the ground? My O3 Speedport White has taken a good beating from regular use, but I don't intentionally "Vaidisova-it" or anything.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

Intentional hitting on the ground if u just play with it normally (which sometimes consists of it hitting the ground) the racquet is fine but when i intentionally smashed it on the ground not even hard it would break so easily! i broke 2 in a week

Ah, OK. Well, if I plan on getting temper tantrums I won't buy an EX 03 then, lol. Two in a week! Jeez, that could get expensive!

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

So, I went to the store armed with all my notes on head size, swing weight, frame stiffness and was ready to break out the momentum equation, so as to appear knowledgeable and not some weak-willed person the guy can sell anything to. He was recommending a Yonex E-Zone or Babolat based on my swing and I listened to everything but it seems my mind was made up to buy the Head Instinct S, so I just bought it :-)

Now, some may think I just gave in to marketing that is made for fools like me and.... you'd be right. :P

It's an indulgence really, given my level and frequency of playing but I've just been inspired recently to pick up a racquet after a while of not playing. If Sharapova is the cause of that, so be it.

Besides, I did do *some* research: After many contradicting opinions of "light and head-heavy is bad" vs "Get a lighter racquet if your shoulder hurts" and "power vs control" and all that jazz, I thought the Instinct S was the easiest decision because it seemed mid-way for all the features.

Now, if only I could find a tennis partner other than a wall....

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

graffite, don't ever be fooled by thinking that when you go to the store to get a racket that you will get the same racket as a pro from a tv. They all have custom made rackets and the only similarity between racket on the shelf and on TV is the paint job. Everything else is different. Trust me, most of the pros play with the same racket for years if not whole carrier.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

I'd been using Babolat Aero Storm for a while and decided I should start playing with a more powerful racquet. I demoed APDC and Pure Drive but wasn't satisfied. So I tried a Yonex VCore 100s and fell in love!

Ordering the Babolat Aero Pro Drive GT (the French Open edition one, because it's $30 cheaper ) with some Christmas money! I've demoed this racquet a bunch of times and have loved it.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

I bought a Babolat APD GT for Christmas, or rather got one as a Xmas present, and chose to have it strung with Pro Hurricane Tour 16 on mains at 59 and VS gut 16 on crosses at 57, and I like it quite a bit, though it after a weekend of hard hitting I felt it in shoulder. I think that has to be the poly strings in the mains.

I will say, it yields more control than the Prince O3 Speedport white/synthetic gut w/ Duraflex combo I've been playing with the past few years, which in turn allows me to hit out as hard as I want--I think that's where the shoulder pain may be coming from. I may eventually go back to a synthetic string though, if the pain persists. But I do like the controlled power I can generate with that racquet.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

I'm currently playing with the Wilson BLX Tour Lite, but I really like Yonex racquets. But they are difficult to get, you have to order them from abroad because they are not available in stores.
