UNREALISTIC, DELUSIONAL, NOT REALISTIC MASHABATOR GOALS:
- win the French
- get an Olympic Medal
- beat Serena, Kvitova
- win Miami
- make QFs at all the Slams
- back to N1

Just play with confidence that's it. Henin in 2007 once showed even with low FS% she can still win heaps of matches.

I just finished watching Masha-Henin AO08 highlights (Was inspired actually by the GM thread which is quite epic) and I literally got CHILLS. Masha was so poised, confident and assured even though there were some hiccups when serving out the first set. It was controlled aggression textbook style. I just hope that in 2012, Masha rediscovers that confidence and cockiness again. I agree with some poster that Masha's game lies in her instinct, and recently she's just been bothered by too many things mentally. She needs to get the 'better than everyone else' mentality back. Ironic considering her new promo for Head is that her game is instinct.

Henin didn't need a first serve because she was lightning quick and her motion was really simple to begin with. Maria takes much more time finishing her motion and isn't nearly as good a mover as Henin was, so if someone pummels her serve she'll be completely off balance for the remainder of the rally (unless she's playing a pusher).
Maria REALLY needs a great 1st serve.
