Damn it's too bad Christian will not be showcasing her skills, NY's loss I guess.
Same for McLane, she and Lindsey lost to Guarachi/Macfarlane 9-8(3)
And who is Cristina Stancu? 16th seed and beat Jeltje-Loomans, Vierra, Fraser to reach the final

21-year old Romanian, played on tour for a while a couple years ago, won some $10K tournaments and got up to #430 in the world. She's good, wouldn't be surprised if she knocked off some big names this year.

Re: 2011 Regionals
Sad that Trice and Ester couldn't pull out the doubles championship. Also kind of weird that Turewicz withdrew against Clayton right after beating Bek convincingly! Hope she's okay and that there wasn't any "strategy" going on there...Monica really had a good chance to win the tournament based on how she's played all year. Also, I have no idea why Kahan didn't play regionals.

Thx.
She won it all, beating Tomljanovic in 3 Curious how she plays..
So Santamaria and Bektas are the only freshman winners?
And at last Gibbsy wins something
Stanford, Georgia and Maryland are the schools that won BOTH competitions
TCU team were seeded 6th, Maryland team were seeded 7th and won it all.

Re: 2011 Regionals
OU wins doubles
"Huet and Ritchie defeated OSU's Meghan Blevins and Mary Jermiah in the doubles final, 9-8 (5).
This marks the third straight year that a Sooner duo won the Central Region doubles title. Former Sooner Ana-Maria Constantinescu won both the 2010 and 2009 titles with partners Alice Radu and Teona Tsertsvadze respectively. "

They earned an 8-2 victory against the team of Lauren Pelchat and Heather Davidson from Montana."
