Good to hear from her again.
Also, feel like it would be better if Maria plays a warm-up indoor tournament before YEC, like Linz for example. Adequate prep since there are a couple of tough players there. Maria hasn't a played an actual indoor tournament since 2007.  |

^ How could you forget that almighty Memphis win  it was last year and indoors from what I recall 
Playing Tokyo + Beijing is more than enough preparation, we all know that she plays as less tourneys as possible. That 2006 indoors streak was amaze, she does so well indoors  |

Oh yeah I was thinking that I forgot something.  Well winning Memphis didn't turn out to be that useful haha.
But she should really consider playing Linz to get used to match play in these conditions though. Tokyo and Beijing play nothing like indoors (unless the roof is closed in Tokyo). |

I'm pretty sure that she'll have a good run in Tokyo, unless she faces Serena in the early rounds or something. Hope not.
As for Beijing, I'm not sure.

She is just shopping, dining, partying, having a good time, and laughing as she types "really training hard"....I hope. She can start training today or tomorrow as far as I am concerned....I think she needed a break.

I agree. I would like her to play one European indoor tournament, too. But somehow I think she won't. She seems not to like them so much. lol

May I ask you - what is common between the courts in Linz and Istanbul, the weather in the two towns, the climate, the altitude, etc.?

The reason Maria played that many indoor tournaments in 2006 was that she aimed at the year end No.1 ranking. She even went to Moscow to play a match until she ran out of gas and gave A Chak. a walkover.
I'm more than happy if she can pick up a title in the remainder of the year.
