Yea, but I've never seen Shishkina play and want to see more than just 1:30 of her hitting a few balls.

She's from Kazakhstan. Came here around 7, trains at IMG and is a IMG client. IMG is trying to duplicate the M. Sharapova story only this time they are Americanizing her early. They are pumping the bucks in her. They are grooming her for the savior of USA tennis.

As opposed to Maria? I do think they American public will have a hard time adopting her as "their own" simply because she was born in Kazakhstan.

Right!!! They did pretty good with M.S.

I guess I meant this time they are starting from the beginning trying to make her American. Having her play for the US etc etc.
When I first saw her at the Eddie Herr about 3 years ago she had a slight accent.
Upon a recent visit to IMG she had no accent at all and I was told that they worked with her
extensively to disguise any notion that she was foreign. No doubt that she is a good player though.
Very consistent, very steady. But doesn't take any risk.
But is very very precocious.

since I was stopped from taping a match at Carson (ISC), I wouldn't dare take videos at Easter
Bowl.
And no baseline view either, so there. (really, baseline view is quite a luxury..)
