Re: Japanese tennis

QF

Erika vs Akiko Morigami
Kurumi vs Rika
Chiaki vs Yonemura
Yonemura vs Junri

I'm using google translate, and it comes up with Tomoko's name in both spots. But I believe that its Akiko Yon playing Chiaki since its the 4th seed...

Some results from today so far...

Erika def. Akiko 6-2 6-2
Junri lost
Chiaki lost

So all Yonemura semi..

Re: Japanese tennis

So it's Sema vs (Nara/Fujiwara)
and Yonemura vs Yonemura

Do you know how Misaki Doi lost?
And who won between Rika and Kurumi ?
Thanks

Ok, thanks
I saw a picture of Akiko and Erika's handshake, and you're right it's Takao ! So Sema sisters are out ! That's a little surprising ...
Hope the winner between Erika and Kurumi will win this competition !

Re: Japanese tennis

Yurika retired from her match and withdrew from doubles, says on her blog that she is sick.

Semi results were:

Kurumi def. Erika 6-3 6-1
Tomoko def. Akiko 6-4 6-2

I think Kurumi should win easily

Re: Japanese tennis

Not sure where Ai's thread went but if anyone is interested, here is her career best tournament win at Scottsdale, AZ on Youtube (the final vs Clijsters).

She beat Daniilidou, Davenport, Stevenson and others on her way to the final where she stunned Kim Clijsters, after already beating Stevenson that morning (saving 3 or 4 match points). After beating Clijsters in 3 sets, she teamed with Clijsters to win the Semi-final and Final (defeating Davenport/Raymond) in doubles THE SAME DAY.

This was Ai at her peak.
