I don't think she's playing so many tournaments to get her confidence up, I think it's because she's changing some things in her game, so early exits are to be expected. Maybe even for the coming months.

Is she really changing things, though, or is it about confidence after all? Apart from the bending on her forehand, I haven't really noticed anything new/different. Her lasso forehand is back as well.
Also what happened to her tennis from FO 10 - Cincy final? She played some really good tennis back then.

this is what bugs me as well...she played some inspired tennis last summer, serving well and hitting as big as ever. But since that unfortunate loss to Kim in Cincy it all went downhill. Hopefully she and her team will find a solution soon, because the tour needs GOATPova, not miserable Poova

She did play some good - probably her best of the season and good enough for a strong showing at slam - tennis there but it wasn't THAT amazing either. Still, it's heaps better than how she's playing now though.

Even though she did not play AMAZE STUNNING PERFECT tennis back then, it was still considerably better than anything she's shown this year.

Gotta agree with that. I don't expect her to come out and play AO '08 GOAT tennis but she played pretty well last summer, it wasn't painful to watch. So I am wondering why it worked decently back then and now she's back to being a pretty big mess.

Hm yeah now that I look at it you weren't really overreacting, my bad sorry.

Pretty sure she was depressed that she let that match against Clijsters slip and unmotivated because she lost to someone like Wozniacki.

Yeah that's true. Some of her matches were fairly enjoyable (vs Aga and Bartoli, the last one being IMO the best match she played last year till the hiccup).

I think its all between the ears. The loss to Wozniacki really hurt her I think and really took away her confidence and motivation. She has been a shaddow of her former self since. She barely showed up in Asia and she hasnt been able to lift so far this year except for one match where she played semi decent tennis.

People said that her form went downhill from the Clijsters match but I don't think it had that big of an effect...
