Saving Match Points + Double Bagel
Has anyone ever won 1 match having to save match points and another via a double bagel in the same tournament?
I know Clijsters did both back to back, but they were in seperate tournaments (Sydney against Jankovic/AO against Bardina).

Davenport US Open 2006. She beat Kostanic 6-0 6-0 in the second round and then she saved two match points in the third round against Srebotnik.

Yes, I am sure she did. I never got to watch the match because I was on vacation in Orlando, but the commentators stated that she did.

Re: Saving Match Points + Double Bagel
Hantuchova saving match points is very impressive, considering she's quite a choker.

Re: Saving Match Points + Double Bagel
Robin Soderling did not even bother trying to get in Rafael Nadal's head this time.
In a rematch of hotly-contested and controversial five-set Wimbledon clash that took place two summers ago, Nadal destroyed Soderling 6-1, 6-0 on Thursday night in the third round of the Masters Series Rome. Nadal needed just one hour and 24 minutes to set up a blockbuster quarterfinal against fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco. That will also be rematch of another five-set thriller. Nadal survived Verdasco earlier this season in an Australian Open semifinal epic en route to his sixth Grand Slam title.
If there was any highlight at all for Soderling during Thursday's match, it was the first 20 minutes. He took care of his opening service game for a quick 1-0 lead and promptly had ideas of taking what would been a borderline shocking 2-0 advantage. Serving at 0-1, Nadal needed almost 15 minutes to hold, saving one break point and battling through a host of deuce points before finishing it off for 1-1. The match was never the same after that. Running his opponent all over the court with heavy groundstrokes and ridiculous angles, Nadal seized the first break of the night for 2-1. Soderling, however, refused to go away just yet. The Swede raced to a 0-40 lead on Nadal's next service game only to squander all three break-point opportunities. Nadal held for 3-1 and broke easily for 4-1, but in fairness to Soderling, he did not quit. The underdog earned another break point a game later, but Nadal once again saved it and held. A third break of the night at 5-1 finished off a dominant first set for the world No. 1. All that needs to be said about Nadal's level throughout the opening frame of play--especially on the big points--is that Soderling actually played well and still lost six straight games after winning the very first one.
