Tough match but not insurmountable. Daniella hasn't quite got it together yet. Glad actually that she's playing someone higher ranked but not unbeatable. It might focus her on playing the player, not thinking of her last years result.

So many chances to win that first set for Casey. I like Dani too but I felt bad for Casey, after the first set heartbreak and then a 40-0 turning into a break at the start of the 2nd set... things just didn't go her way. Backhands in the net, forehands long... On the plus side she might do well in doubles, also I think she might (hopefully) have a good year if she keeps playing like that (and doesn't get too discouraged). She definitely could have won if a few things had happened differently.

Yes, disappointed that Casey couldn't close out that first set but I'm so happy that she kept the second close and played some of her best tennis of the summer in the last three or four games.

She was a different player than the one who fluffed her Sydney R1 and looked unhappy at the Hopman Cup. Hope the shoulder is okay (

) and that she can do well in doubles and mixed doubles (if she plays it)

Great fightback from Casey/Fran down 0/6 3/5... to go on and only lose one of the next 11 games (0/6 7/5 6/1). Personally i wish Casey was a little more activet net... most fo the match she seemed stationary unless crossing (no faking, not real pressure)
They are going to have to play the way they did in the last set and a half if they want to make the finals... in SF either v's Williams's or Peng/Hsieh (Currently: 6/2 3/3)
