Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
julia cohen has changed the florida gators into winners. she is representing philly down there in gatorville.
not only has she been 10-1 in overall play, she had a win against the number one at georgia. on her weekends, she still thinks about her family. this weekend in chicago, she won another gold ball by winning the national father- daughter tournament. i read an article, and it saId she was serving and volleying better in doubles since joining the gators.
go gators, and go julia. we all knew you would make a successful transition to college tennis. the gators are all team of all dimensions.

Re: Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
This girl is so consistent and smart it's not even funny. I saw that match she had against Hyndman in Georgia and man that georgia girl can't do a thing against Julia's smarts and ball directions of change. Julia doesn't hit hard either. She takes her time and go dictates the pace of the match on her terms. She can hit soft or hard if she wants to. This girl will take the gators far.

I saw her get double bageled by Amber Liu at Carson a year ago. It was painful. The girl had no power, decent speed, but no placement. Amber Liu usually doesn't have the game to bagel someone decent.

Re: Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
It'll be interesting to see how she matches up against the top international players, particularly those with lots of experience on the ITF circuit like Gloria. Julia hasn't really played anyone that tough besides Tsang and maybe Rybakova.
On March 28th she'll face current No. 1 Aurelija Miseviciute from Arkansas that will be a very interesting match.

Re: Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
i was there when julia played amber in california and julia was hurt. She had a few uncharacteristic matches over that short period of a couple of weeks, but to be a great winner you need to have some losses. Julia just needed to get it out of her system before she made her big move to become of the best up-incoming american players. Go julia versus Miseviciute of arkansas, she likes the competition. GO GATORS!

Re: Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
i saw that match between julia and the #1 girl (can't spell her name LOL). the first set they were breaking each other left and right, but with Julia always getting the first break. Julia actually had a couple of chances to serve out the set at 5-4 and then at 6-5 if I remember correctly. But she just couldn't hold her serve and eventually lost in the tiebreak. At that time, the gators had already won the dual with 4 points with Megan about to start her 3rd set super-tiebreak (which she eventually won). Julia just looked very deflated and went for too much on her shots and not sticking to her game plan. She was really upset as she stormed off the courts after shaking hands with the umpire without even giving a glance to her coach and her teammates...
She was right there though in that first set. This girl plays so smart. Had the #1 girl all frustrated the whole time.

Re: Like I Predicted Julia Cohen Has Changed....
Amanda Taylor #23 def Julia Cohen 6-2, 6-0.
to lose is natural. to get demolished by not a top player is embarassing. Like I said, this girl is good but not great, even at the college level.
