Yeah Maria plays Fed Cup there. She landed already this morning in Isreal.
According to the official tournament website Maria is in the lineup in Dubai, just as Justine, Ana, Kuzi and JJ. So we're going to see a good tournament there
On the official site of Doha there is no lineup online yet. But with the SEC going to be played there, i think Maria should play to get to know the surface and the surroundings.

Yep. My superstitions have developed a bit trial and error really..
* Do a good deed that day.......
* No newspapers with pics of Masha in the room during her matches.
* Never record a match on a disk with someone else on it.
* Save some pix of Mashas previous win to the hard disk of the computer..
Anyway, the win obviously meant SO much to Masha...
So I'm...
Happy. Happy Happy
Happy Happy Happy
HAPPY!

I think you beat us all...you really were in Nike gym clothes every single time?

|
I am Ana's fan too, ever since I saw her playing so amazingly in Zurich in 2004 against Tati and Venus.
And of course she does not make those shoe sounds deliberately.
But those screeching sounds go right through every fiber of my body, even watching on tv it is a very painful torture to me (I like to have the sound really loud, so that it feels like I'm right there in the stands, I also like to switch the commentary audio stream off, if possible, to have only the background sounds).
Maria's grunting, on the other hand, does not have any painful frequencies, it is harmless, pleasant and reassuring if anything, without it I get worried, and it is no louder than the one Venus or Serena make, just identical.
Anyway, the louder the better, I turn even more volume to enjoy the reality of the match.

Re: Australian open 2008
...but seriously have you tried squeaking your shoes while waiting to return? Youve gotta try pretty hard to do it....I just wonder why Ana is moving so much that it is enough to squeak. It cant be the shoes because the other adidas players arent squeaking all the time. Anyways it doesnt make much difference, Maria said she didnt notice it so thats all that worries me...obv some other players didnt like it though

well i was watching the mens finals on sunday and in one game, or maybe two, Djokovic, his shoes suddenly made that noise too, so maybe it is the shoe, or just a particular way of moving

Re: Australian open 2008
LOTS of players make that sound whilst running... its just the new surface
It has nothing to do with the shoe, its just the rubbing on the surface, the more u lift ur feet of the ground it won't happen, slide along it a little and it will.

Come on Dan23 give us the story...
Good pictures from the AO final, Dan, but no report.
Come on. Spill the beans. What was the atmosphere like? How was the crowd? Did you cheer Maria to victory? Did you congratulate her? Give us the whole experience.
