Marrit Boonstra come back?
Hi all, on the itf entrylist of Tempa Bay I found the name of Marrit Boonstra. You think she's making a "comeback"?

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
That is quite surprising!! Good find, Brenda_fan.
I have no idea what she's up to. She might play some tournies now her term ended. If she is still going to college that is.

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
Weird. But would be nice if she was playing!

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
Well... after all Renee anounced her retirement earlier this year, but she came back? Maybe Marrit didn't like her studies?
Just read that Elise will give up prof tennis, so Marrit coming back would be nice?

*correction* Renee never announced her retirement - the mags said she was retiring, but she never said she was...apparantly.

Well... at least she was close to retirement. On monday de Volkskrant had a small interview with Renee, after she had beaten Misha in the finals of the masters in Rotterdam. She explained how her parents got divorced when she was 15 and she got caught in between; how everybody talked about her future of being a professional tennis player, while she herself wasn't thinking about that at all.
And about not getting the right feeling in being part of Jong Oranje, not feeling at home in Almere. She's now being coached by Fred Hemmes senior, Dennis van Schepingen and Raymond Knap, and plays every day with Popeye Gold Star...
She says how she'll start in 2008 by playing a few 10k's and hopes to progress to the 25K's quickly. She turns 18 in march and then wants to play fulltime... But, as she states herself, the most important is that she left the past behind her....
So I guess stopping was on her mind for a while... and you're up to date now

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
Thanks - but I already knew about her parents getting divorced and that anyway. I have my contacts.

erm ok then - I did say thanks. But at the bottom, you said I was up to date now - well I just meant that I already was.

let me guess, you're a lawyer? Or studying to become one? You're really keen on pinning people down on their words?

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
Misschien over 5 of 6 jaar nieuw talent? De potentie is er.

Re: Marrit Boonstra come back?
De potentie is er altijd al geweest. Bauer, Gerards, Balk, Schoofs, Boonstra, Reinhard, Herz enz.,enz.
