A new name in Russian Roulette. In less than 10 days time Vesna climbed up the ladder about 200 places. Since today's win Vesna is (probably) in top 500. Booked her best ever result last week in Ukraine 25 K. where she made semis after starting with Qualies.
This season Vesna is only player out of TOP200 which qualify to Wimbledon MD, but on other hand she is player which lose less games (only 12 in 3 matches!!!) than anyone else on road to Main Draw!
Also, thanks to this Vesna's big personal success, hers motherland fatherland Serbia will have for the first time ever (including there former Yugoslavia era!) 4 girls into Main Draw of some Grand Slam event! And since Serbia become independent country, for the first time ever at some GS tournament there will be more WTA players from Serbia than ATP

Not only that. Some poster was surprised that we all support Vesna now, but it has to be said that we didn't have many players who managed to reach GS MD in the whole tennis history of our country, including Yugoslavia. Every time some new player gets a chance to play in such a big event, it's a huge success.
B92 is covering Wimbledon this year, probably just ATP but I still think they can catch Vesna and ask her for an interview?
Hopefully she gets a good draw and a show court
So close. But it was obvious she will lose. She was struggling to hold while Pironkova would hold with love in 2 minutes in the 3rd set. Too bad there wasn't a stream, I am still about to see Vesna play for the first time.
#2 seed in the 100k Biella qualies, Vesna made the main draw after rallying to win her second match, against Mervana Jugic-Salkic, in three, 67(6) 63 62.
True but She was probably thinking she will be Serbian racquet #4, maybe even #3 if she starts playing better, she would most likely get to play Fed Cup in the future and always opened door for Olympics ... one day  I highly doubt she will get financial help.
