Re: Laura Robson: The Silver Medal Years 2012-

Hsieh Su-Wei wrote an article for chinadaily. Here's an excerpt:
I was very surprised that Laura Robson (the runner-up in Guangzhou) defeated Li Na in the US Open. No offense, but I was like "oh, are you kidding me? How did that happen?"

I was really shocked, but I have to admit (Robson) is a genius. All the left-handers are geniuses. She improved her serve a lot and is going to be a tough opponent very soon.

Re: Laura Robson: The Silver Medal Years 2012-

(3)Christina McHale (USA) v Kai-Chen Chang (TPE)
Kimiko Date-Krumm (JPN) v Casey Dellacqua (AUS)
Q v (wc)Kurumi Nara (JPN)
Eleni Daniilidou (GRE) v (8)Laura Robson (GBR)

Laura's section of the draw, which is actually a very good one. If playing well, should at least make QF's.

Re: Laura Robson: The Silver Medal Years 2012-

anyone know how far laura has to get in this tournament in order to make the top 50?
One more win and she would be 2 points behind the current no 50. Semi-final should do it. Semi-final is where she would potentially meet Stosur, so as far as I can work out she can get into top 50 without having to beat Stosur.

She will lose 30 more points if she finishes her season in Osaka but it should still be enough to finish top 50!

If she wins the tournament she'll get to about 41. But that may be a little optimistic..
