Re: Career highlight

Great work Vikapower :yeah:

I've found some slight mistakes

2010
Best regular tour result : Quebec City (SF)
That was 2009. ;)
In 2010 her best tour results were: Bad Gastein (Win), Luxembourg (Final) and Palermo (SF)

2011
  • Best clay court season 14-3 (0.823)
I think it was 18-7
Fed Cup (both ties were on clay) 2-1
Bogota 1-1
Acapulco 1-1
Charleston 3-1
Stuttgart 5-0
Madrid 4-1
RG 2-1
Bad Gastein 0-1

- Forced error, [Total points - (Winners + Opponent's unforced)], illustration of controlled aggressive tennis or controlled aggressive play. In Julia case, her forced error count is much lower than her winner's or/and unforced count in average which means she relies on a riskier game to win her matches. Considering the fact that Julia takes charge of the game winners/unforced, her opponents relies thus more on forcing her into error if they can't answer her aggressive style with the same, 36.61% of their games.

- Aggressive margin, [(Forcing shots + Winners) - Unforced] margin of points won by Julia with her aggressive plays/sequences. Can show how good she is with her offensive play and at ending points with a successful out-come.

- Shot-making, [Winners + Forcing shots] quantity of winning shots Julia strikes by match.

You are doing the great work @Vikapower :worship:
Appearances in the Grand Slam still on minus - She just has to win RG :smoke:

Since Pavlyuchenkova didn't defend the title from Monterrey and don't play this week...

I am pleased to announce, on Monday 5th March 2012 Julia Görges will reach
the new CAREER-HIGH SINGLES Rank = 15 !!!

From happiness every fan of Julia will learn how to do her split from Paris

For those wondering I will update the thread Saturday or Sunday -- don't worry.

Julia's ranking doesn't change that much from last Monday, so I'll just change the date.

I finally found a way to calculate Julia's 1st. % points won on first serves and 2nd. % points won on second serves. It was so freaking evident but I was searching way too far.

I hope the numbers will be kind of similar/close the WTA's because I'm basing on match stat. :oh:

With the tournaments moving in the Olympic year, Stuttgart will fly out of the WTA rankings after Fed Cup, so we can see how Julia's ranks looks without her great Victory. She will be currently the 21st. The decrease of 5 positions - from 16 to 21. So is not so bad :p :D Now, what she'll win in Stuttgart is in her favor !
http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=20688789&postcount=2

(Soon naturally Madrid will fall out)

Thanks Vikapower. I don't know where you got all these details. Is there a site in Internet with informations about unforced errors and winners in concrete matches in the past ??

:yeah: Stuttgart was played the 18th of April last year, I totally forgot that anyways doesn't make much difference hopefully Julia will do something in Stuttgart.

Thanks Vikapower. I don't know where you got all these details. Is there a site in Internet with informations about unforced errors and winners in concrete matches in the past ??
 Well I wish there was unfortunately not -- for the WTA tour it's my 'personal collection' if I can say so of her post-match statistics made from captions.

I will upload them to imageur and post a link so that you all can check them out. :yeah:

For the majors, you can check out matchstat for the winners/unforced statistic but also that's where I take all the serving statistics (aces, Dfs, return on first serve % etc.) -- I admit there's a lot of typing etc. to do because must take opponents and Julia together to get the (%) return on first/second serves for example.

 I don't guaranty you of the veracity of matchstat's numbers because I often don't fall pin point with the WTA's count but it's really not a big difference, generally +/-0.02~0.05% in average difference so it does not really harm.

---

As for the very first section, I created a complex database with Microsoft Access where I can question about specific facts about Julia.

#36 ·
Yeah 21 is not bad especially considering that the surrounding girls for most aren't really in tennis form right now (Jankovic etc.) -- so she can quickly come back on top.

Also, Julia has the advantage of not having played Rome last year so she can take many points in this Premier 5 event to rebuild her ranking and/or seeding for Roland-Garros.

So... it wasn't good time propably :p Because You passed Stuttgart with 60 points ;)The state on May 7 will be 1945 points (Stuttgart for Madrid).
She will be propably on the 25th position next monday... Depending on the finish Errani and Cetkovska in tourneys this week. The challenge now is only to gain points... Most important results have been deducted. There is nothing to lose already.

#41 ·
 Yes true  Though I don't quite understand why she'd be at 1945 points ?

Actually Madrid or any of the 4 other compulsory tournaments (Majors + Mandatory) are not replaceable by the other non obligatory ones.

I hope I said it right
