Xaxa, notice how everybody who rode in the official car lost in their first match after that? xDD Luckily, Maria is too bitchy to even consider riding in that

Omg I'm so happy! It's so special. First time in RG final, chance to achive Career Grand Slam and win finally her 4th Slam , she is back to no.1 too!

Errani is playing great she beat great players. But I think this time it's diffrent. Maria wasn't the clear favourite to win Wimbledon or AO...Kvitova was playing like GOAT and Azarenka was/is always a tough match-up for her.
Congrats Maria and GL in the final!

- Maria will take the 6th final in 2012 (really amazing), 2-3 in final this year and 26-16 in WTA final, 3-3 in GS Final.
- It's the first time Maria into the RG Final, and Maria hasnt lose in a Clay Final (5-0).
- Maria '25years old' hasnt lose in a final
- Maria need a last win to become the sixth player of the Open Era to complete the career Grand Slam

She's basically 48 points away from joining the GOAT club :sobbing:

Another nice fact for the thread :)

Maria is now guaranteed at least 4 weeks at number one, unless Vika decides to play some grass court events before Wimbledon. (A win in the final would make any Vika pre-Wimbly points irrelevant)

With those four weeks, Maria will finally get to climb above a whole host of other players for total weeks at number one, rising above Jelena Jankovic (18 weeks), Victoria Azarenka (19), Kim Clijsters (20) and Tracy Austin (21) to earn a guaranteed 22 weeks at #1, placing her at #12 in the all time list.

It's nothing major, but it's nice to see her finally climb above Jankovic, close in on Safina and get some extra leverage in the "who's greater Maria or Kim" debate. :p

My hunch is Maria will stick around No. 1 for a while, either now or later on in the year.
