Ok guys I followed this girls developement for quite a few months now.
Last month she won the European Junior Championships, Pilzen for girls under 14.
Other success she had this year:
Winner of G16 Junior Croatia Open, Cakovec
Winner of G14 Mladost Grill Open, Zagreb
Winner of G16 Kvarner Open, Rijeka
Also reaching a G16 final in AvignonFR and a couple of SFs.
This year she has a win-loss record of 48-7 currently. With those 4 titles.
She seems to be highly talented, there´s a lot of potential, hope she´s not going to fade away and go her way.
Well maybe better she prepare good for the next season, it will be important to be in best shape for AO and grea if she could qualify, i guess she will receives wc Q for some of the warm-ups...
I'm still hoping for a match-up with Serena in Melbourne Better now than next year, that's for sure, and it would be an experience of a lifetime to face one of the greatest of all time (playing in great form) in your first ever main draw of a major.
Legendary, already One of my favorite pics of Ana, if not THE favorite.
Just this morning I was thinking about how uber-cool was it that she and Borna won a junior slam on the same day...it's like I'm only now starting to realize how huge that was. Quite amazing.
P. S. Anyone else excited about q-lists for the 1st week of 2014 (finally) being released in something like 30 hours time?
Someone posted in the Auckland thread that Ana is on the Brisbane alt list, but a) don't know how this person could know it so early and b) s/he said Ana is alt #15, which doesn't sound right given her ranking
Not to mention it would be bordering on ridiculous to send her off into an event like this... Anyway, we'll find out soon enough
According to Spiceboy, Ana can't receive a WC in Auckland because she is listed as an alternate in Brisbane Didn't know about this rule. Does that mean she'd have to pull out of Brisbane in order to receive it or...?
Cut-off in Auckland is 71 for MD and 227 for QD. So Ana could maybe even reach qualies here on her own, but I'm not sure her team would settle for that.
This time last year Ana was pretty much just starting out on Tour (got her first ranking on Nov. 26th). Now we're already approaching the second volume of her thread - 234 posts to go
If you look at their travel itinerary that may suggest something. I am soooooo glad they finally came around!!! Well done Karl and his fantastic team for deciding to target her
